The MA in Creative Writing
at Ball State University is a fantastic program.  The faculty are dedicated and talented individuals who have greatly helped me to improve my writing.  It is not one of those programs in which the workshops all encourage uniformity of thought (often producing work limited to the professor's tastes – you know the type; we've all had them I think).  It is a relatively young program, very flexible and very supportive.  There is a strong sense of community on the campus.  It is, quite simply, a wonderful environment for writing.  I cannot say enough good things about the faculty and my fellow graduate students.

I should also mention that they have a phenomenally good teaching program.  If you have any inclination at all to teach, Ball State is the place to come to.  Contact me if you are at all curious.
